True Blood “The Fourth Man in the Fire” Put the possum down
I have read most of the Sookie Stackhouse novels so I know most of what will happen but I still really dig this show. There are plotlines and characters that have been altered or are not in the books at all so there are still surprises. I will not give away anything that will happen in future episodes.
In this episode, Sookie is under great stress because she’s sure Bill is dead. She’s certainly been through the ringer since he came around. As she is laying flowers on Bill’s tombstone he pops out from underground (all naked and dirty) and they enjoy a savage and intense reunion.
Tara’s mother’s exorcism seems to have done the trick. Now she does laundry and makes pancakes with bacon grease. Tara finds time to jump back in the sack with Sookie-obsessed Sam (who seems downright disappointed at the news that Bill survived). He then mentions to her that she grunts during sex, which certainly wasn’t tactful but Tara overreacts. That girl loves to yell at people with little to no provocation. Is she really going to get exorcised too? I suppose that means the sarifice of another possum. Will Terry find it and make a second possum penis necklace?
Jason’s new girlfriend reminds me of many girls I went to college with. Philosophizing every detail of life, sounding like she’s on a perpetual ecstasy high. Strangely, she didn’t have a moment of pause when Jason told her about hitting his sister. Which either means she has self-esteem issues and loves troubled fellas, OR she’s batshit and he should be a little scared. Oh, and she likes to drain vampires and snort their blood.
Awkward moment: When Arlene makes her kids put on silver bracelets to protect them from Bill…in front of Bill.
That argument the Reverend on VTV was making about vampires being a danger to children actually sounds identical to the one heard from ultra religious people in reference to homosexuals. Very interesting, indeed.
Ending each episode with a cliffhanger is brilliant.
